The upside...

I guess there is an upside to all the sore throats, earaches and not being able to eat.  Hopefully I will get sick less often.  AND...I have lost 7 lbs since I have come back from surgery.  LOL  Well I am sure that a couple lbs were gained from the IV that day but still.  If only I could starve myself on a regular basis.  JUST KIDDING!!!

It doesn't hurt as much to drink stuff so I am assuming that eating more soft foods might be ok.  I am tired of eating jello and I don't really like the pudding.  =(  Maybe I can blend up a steak (as RC suggested...haha.)

The same questions...over and over again...LOL

I went from two wristbands from summer stage which was AWESOME...

(see http://www.nitrolicious.com/blog/2008/07/22/central-park-summerstage-mad-fools-in-the-park-concert/#more-10358 )

To two at the hospital 24 hours later for my tonsil removal surgery...I guess they have to write my allergies just in case they decided to give me shrimp or dust while I was under.  LOL  They forgot the cockroaches that I am also allergic to but I was pretty confident that they weren't gonna feed me those.  Haha.  Its so weird when you go into surgery.  I wish I would have gotten a picture of my IV.  It was my first ever!  Well from the pictures below you can see the small hole that it went into at the top right corner.

You fill out a form about your medical history, talk to a nurse, then another nurse, then an anesthesiologist, then the doctor and then another doctor and they all ask you pretty much the same questions over and over again and write notes in the same binder.  LOL

-What are you allergic to?
-When was the last time you ate?
-What did you have?
-When was the last time you had caffeine?
-When was the last time you had alchohol?
-Do you have jewelry on?
-Do you have dentures? (LOL..wtf?)
-Is your skin all intact? (double wtf???)

And all the normal medical history stuff i.e. have you been in surgery before, does your family have a history of...

Today I feel like I have the 2nd most horrible sore throat I have had in my life.  Yesterday was the MOST horrible.  Its taking time to get used to the pain when swallowing.  I am only able to have water mixed with a little bit of apple juice every 10 minutes or so.  Its horrible that I have to hold the spit I collect in my mouth and spit it out so that it doesn't hurt my throat.  LOL  I tried Jello today but it was still too hard.  Maybe later.  =/

I am glad that I have people to chat with and keep me entertained and also, MK filled my hard drive with movies and TV episodes.  =)  Oh yeah...and tons of books...girly ones but still books.    And a couple new blogs to keep me entertained.  I am trying to start from the beginning...I wonder if I am even going to have that much time for all this!!!

My roommates have been great.  They are taking care of me and I also received a huge bouquet of flowers from one of them as a get well:

Good luck to RC on her test tomorrow.  I am not worried...she's be studying like crazy and is soooo smart!

Here is the thing that made me feel a WHOLE lot better.  My dad just started e-mailing and going on the internet a couple years back and rarely e-mails us but I received this e-mail when I woke up today:

Dear April:

How are you doing.

Mom and I are thinking of you.

Take care, we love you !

Love
Dad

A big thanks to MK and all the people that e-mailed, texted or IM'd

I made it through my surgery today.  I owe MK a whole lot.  I was talking to various people regarding my surgery and little by little I was getting more afraid that I was going into surgery alone...with no one to say one last thing to me before I go.  Luckily for me and unluckily for MK, he got there before I went into to surgery.  Thanks for being there and making me feel a lot better about the whole thing.
